The Brief:
Visualising information is never just about aesthetics, it’s about unlocking understanding. For these two infographic projects I turned complex, data-heavy subjects into accessible, engaging visuals that highlight the environmental and operational impact of IT asset disposal.
The first infographic, “Data Erasure’s Role in the Circular Economy”, aimed to reframe e-waste as an opportunity. I used illustration to support the narrative, combining it with considered typography and iconography to guide the viewer. Key messages – like the cost of improper disposal and the scale of global e-waste – are placed front and centre, but balanced with clear, actionable alternatives.
The second piece, “An International Look at Public Sector SSD Destruction”, presented a challenge: how to convey technical and policy information across nine countries without overwhelming the viewer. I tackled this with a modular layout, structured typography, and intuitive iconography to guide readers through country comparisons, regulatory frameworks and sustainability gaps.
My aim throughout was to make complex information feel simple, without oversimplifying. The visuals were designed not just to communicate Blancco’s message, but to strengthen it — supporting advocacy for sustainability, data security, and smarter digital infrastructure worldwide. Since these infographics also needed to be translated into multiple languages, I took care to design with flexibility and clarity in mind, ensuring that layout and content would remain effective across regions.
